A new fastening system for the Nubuk collection

The FM-N02 introduces a different way to hold a menu sheet inside a Nubuk-line cover. Instead of the three-screw spine used on the FM-N01, this model uses a slim nubuk fixing strip stitched across the inside of the cover and held down by two decorative screws. The printed sheet slides underneath the strip from the top and stays in place through tension alone. The result is a cleaner interior, a slightly faster sheet swap, and a fastener that reads as part of the cover's design rather than as visible hardware.

Nubuk in taupe: warm neutral with quiet depth

Taupe is the most versatile tone in the Nubuk palette — warm enough to feel inviting on wooden tables and cream linens, neutral enough to disappear against almost any interior colour scheme. Under warm restaurant light the surface picks up subtle amber; under cool daylight it reads closer to sand and mushroom. This makes it a natural choice for Italian restaurants, brasseries, boutique bakeries, wine cafés, and any venue whose visual identity leans toward warm minimalism. The sanded nap absorbs light rather than reflecting it, so the cover reads matte and considered rather than plastic. Fingerprints, drink rings, and routine spills sit on the surface and wipe clean without staining.

Debossed fixing strip and two decorative screws

The fixing strip is cut from the same nubuk as the cover, folded and stitched around its edges for reinforcement, then anchored with two low-profile chrome screws — one near the top and one near the bottom of the strip. To change the menu, the sheet is pulled up and out from behind the strip, replaced, and slid back in. There is nothing to unscrew and no ring mechanism to open. The strip stays flat against the interior when the cover is closed and does not push the sheet forward or leave a visible ridge on the front.

Sized for A4 and US Letter sheets

The FM-N02 is proportioned for the two most common menu paper sizes — A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) — with interior dimensions that accommodate both without adjustment. That makes it a straightforward fit for restaurant food menus, wine lists, breakfast cards, brunch cards, hotel in-room dining sheets, and any other document already prepared in the standard formats. The fixing strip accommodates a range of paper weights, from lightweight matte stock to heavier textured or coated card, though very thick specialty stock may need to be trimmed slightly at the edge that slides under the strip.

Blind debossed branding

Every cover in the Nubuk collection is branded with blind debossing — a pressure impression that recesses your logo into the surface without foil, ink, or contrasting colour. On taupe nubuk the debossed mark reads as a gentle tonal shift, catching only shadow and grazing light, and holds up better than printed methods against daily handling. It is the branding technique used in premium book publishing and heritage stationery, chosen here because it complements nubuk's matte character rather than competing with it. Provide vector artwork and target dimensions when placing the order, and the debossing plate is prepared to those exact proportions.

Where the taupe FM-N02 belongs

Italian restaurants, French brasseries, boutique bakeries, wine cafés, brunch spots, contemporary bistros, and hotel breakfast rooms — anywhere a warm neutral cover reads more appropriate than a dark or saturated one. Taupe pairs particularly well with reclaimed-wood tables, cream and terracotta ceramics, brass or chrome flatware, and menus printed on warm-white, kraft, or dark-burgundy stock. The fixing-strip mechanism also makes this model a good choice for venues that change menu sheets frequently — daily specials, seasonal cards, or shift-by-shift wine lists.
