Custom Tent-Style Wooden Reserved Signs with Leather and Brass for Marlboro Kitchen & Bar

Marlboro Kitchen & Bar is a venue with a clear visual character — western, warm, and unapologetically bold. When the client needed reserved signs for table management, a printed card or generic plastic holder would have worked against everything the venue communicates. The brief called for something that matched the material palette of the space: wood, leather, brass. The result is a tent-format reserved sign that stands on its own, carries the brand clearly, and looks like it belongs on the table.

01

Form and Construction

The sign is built as a triangular tent: two rectangular plywood panels painted in a warm amber-brown tone, folded along the top edge and held in position by a dark brown leather strap that runs the full length of the ridge. The strap is fixed to each panel by a row of antique brass dome rivets — seven per face, evenly spaced — which function simultaneously as fasteners and as a decorative detail that reinforces the western character of the piece. The tent format requires no base, no stand, and no adhesive: the two panels form a stable triangle on any flat surface and remain upright through regular service handling. The construction is entirely self-contained.

02

The Engraving: Logo and Reserved Text on One Face

The front face of each sign carries two engraved elements. The Marlboro Kitchen & Bar logo — a cowboy hat above the wordmark, with "Kitchen & Bar" in a smaller serif below and a decorative scroll underline — is positioned to the left of the panel. To the right, RESERVED is engraved in a large, bold condensed serif that occupies the full height of the usable surface, sized to read clearly from a standing distance across a dining room. The engraving burns through the painted surface to reveal the warm natural wood beneath, producing a high-contrast dark mark on the amber background without any additional ink or pigment. The combination of the compact logo and the large operational word gives the face a clear hierarchy: brand first, function at scale.

03

The Right Format for Character-Led Venues

A tent-format reserved sign in wood, leather, and brass is suited to any bar, restaurant, or dining venue where the atmosphere of the space extends to every object on the table. Western and steakhouse concepts, bourbon bars, rustic dining rooms, and any venue where natural materials and aged hardware are part of the visual language all benefit from a reserved sign that matches that register. The tent format in particular works well in high-turnover table management: it sits flat, it is easy to move, it does not tip, and it is immediately readable from any approach angle. If you are producing branded table signage for a venue with a strong visual identity, we can develop a custom design and produce it to your specifications. Get in touch to discuss your project.
